He is survived by: his wife Addeanna Henke (Schlagor); his children, William McChesney III (Masako) of Ferris, David Henke of Wichita, Kevin Henke of Vevay, Katherine Wagner (Todd) of Benton, Steven Henke (Christy) of Preston and Alicia Shumway (Tony) of Pratt; his grandchildren, Alec McChesney, Ellen McChesney, Matthew Barnes (Josie), Samuel Henke, Meggan Brinkley (Brad), Jessica Hollingshead (Brian), Austin Wagner (Megan), Kylie Brown, Chance Henke (Tiffany), Sydney Henke and Kaleb Shumway; his siblings, Beverly McCoy, Diane Henke, Doyle Henke (Cheryl) and Beth Jayne Wilkinson (John); his son-in-law Robert Barnes; and his brother-in-law Gary Ellefson. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hilltop Manor in Cunningham, in care of Larrison Mortuary, to be used for continuing resident activities that were very important to Darrel during his residency there.
