He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Milton Merrifield and Pansy Leadbetter Merrifield; his wife Marie Merrifield of Topeka; his children, Larry Merrifield (Teresa) of Topeka, Craig Merrifield (Barbara) of Sault Ste, Sherry Johnson (Joe) of Lawrence and Sandra Wright (Marlin) of Piggott, Arkansas; his sister-in-law Deanna Merrifield; his sons, Gary Merrifield and Robert Merrifield; and his brother Robert Merrifield. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
