He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Virgil Woodie and Etta Woodie (Taylor); his wife Carol Bingham; his daughter Debra Sue Rigdon; his brother Eldon Woodie; his son Vernest Woodie of Topeka; his siblings, Virgil Woodie of Clifton, VA, Jane Grube of Charleston, SC and Christine Moffat of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Ben, Billy Rigdon and Amanda Gorman; and his great grandchild Isaiah Bonjour.
