He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd M. Samuel and Fern N. Samuel (Powell); his son Mike; and his siblings, Helen Lucille, Frances Wolf, Bill and Bob.
He is survived by: his wife Wren Patterson Samuel; his son Derrick Samuel of Lawrence; and his sister Zee Ballenger of Jacksonville Beach. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
