He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Albert and Elizabeth Josephine Etzel (Ringleman); his siblings, Marcus Etzel Jr., John A. Etzel, Michael Etzel, Elizabeth Curley and Sylvia Swain; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Etzel.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberlee Thompson (Tom) of Topeka, Kansas and Steve Etzel of Berryton, Kansas; his sister Linda Tierce (Jack) of Brownsville, Texas; his grandchildren, Andrea L. Etzel, Ashleigh D. Etzel, Tanner J. Etzel, Conor S. Etzel, Tyler J. Thompson and Alyssa J. Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Jamison Smith, Mary-Louise Smith and Addison L. Etzel.
