He was predeceased by: his son Samuel Remington Brooks III; and his siblings, Mildred, George and Larry. He is survived by: his wife Wilma; his grandchildren, Chrystal Brooks (Nick Savoca), Christopher Brooks and Amanda Shaw (John); his great grandchildren, Josiah, Lynsey, Cyla, Cooper, Remington and Jay; his daughters-in-law, Lianne Brooks and Cindy Cox; his sisters, Dorothy David (Maynard), Marcia Anderson (Hap) and Silver; and his sisters-in-law, Kay Brooks, Clara Zeller and Joye Cook.
