Mary Barbara Hudson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Barbara Hudson of Topeka, Kansas, born in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, who passed away on February 28, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey McCorkle and Hazel McCorkle (Webb); her grandson Dane Zigrand; and her sister Georgia Gorrell. She is survived by: her children, Sharon Stuewe (Mark) of Maple Hill, Guy Cook (Teana) of Columbia, MO, Anthony Cook (Lisa) of Topeka and Stacy Flerlage (Douglas) of Olathe; and her grandchildren, E. Kristie Stuewe, Justin Stuewe, Travis Stuewe, Joshua Cook, Kayla Cook, Samone Wittman, Cole Cook, Keagan Cook, Joshua Larson and Saxton Hall. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the CAT Association of Topeka for the perpetual care of her beloved cat, Emme.

“She forever blamed me for Stacy transforming from a quiet, shy & well-behaved child to a talkative, outspoken young lady. Though she always said this with a roll of her eyes, a wave of her hand, then she’d catch my eye & grin. She was so proud of Stacy, that was as clear as day. She tolerated few shenanigans, and often knew what we were up to before we did. She welcomed me into her home many times. She was a great comfort to me when my parents divorced. She was equally kind & terrifying. ❤️Jen”
