With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Anne Childress of Topeka, Kansas, born in Joplin, Missouri, who passed away on March 8, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Sidney (Sid) and Gladys Cook (Luke); and her siblings, Norma Smith, Harold Cook and Burleigh Cook.

She is survived by: her children, Becki Childress and Chris Childress (Doneen); her granddaughter Allie Montgomery (Mitch); her nephew Sid Connor (Chris); her niece Sheri Cronin (Bob); and her cousin Clara Ferguson (Keith). She is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

“I met Gregg & Mary Anne when Gregg was our Pastor at Auburn Christian Church. There were times when Gregg would include Mary Anne in his sermons. He always spoke of Mary Anne with such love. I knew that Gregg adored her just by things he would say. Gregg, you & your family have my deepest sympathy.
