He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Edwin Smith and Erma Issacs Smith; his daughter Judy Ann; and his siblings, Wilbur, Mary Alice and Helen Marie Brown.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Rev. Harold Brown; his wife Shirley Joanne Voelker; his children, Connie Jean Smith, Ben Smith (Ramona), Donna Marie Amend, Santa and Jim Smith (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Jennifer Davis (Al), Curt Hermann, Brandon (Leah), Blake Smith (Melissa), Brock (Laura) and Chanel Smith (Elijah); his nephew Bob Brown; his niece Linda McCarty (H. D.); and also, Paul and Wilma Holt Voelker of Hoyt. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
