He was predeceased by: his son Robert Marvin Varner; his parent John Marvin Varner; his brother Clyde McDermeit; his former wife Ivy Varner; and his children, Carol and Doel.
He is survived by: his grandson Joshua David Varner; his children, David Varner of Topeka, KS and Susan Haefele of Lewisville, TX; his sisters, Wilda Jean Graves, Dorma Miller and Erma Rosetta; and also Corporal. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
