With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leonard A. Appelhanz of Topeka, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 6, 2024 at the age of 94. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Leonard A. Appelhanz to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Appelhanz and Barbara Appelhanz (Hefner); and his siblings, Paul, Ralph, Raymond, Adam, Theodore, Isadore, Mary Catherine Allen and Eva Berwett.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Smith; and his children, Catherine Pritchard (Randy) of Meriden, Connie Pritchard (Danny) of Topeka, Christopher Appelhanz (Barbie) of Topeka, Carrie Roberson (Rodney) of Silver Lake and Charles Appelhanz (Tracy) of Topeka. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
