He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron J. Benson and Norma E. Sumner Benson; and his adoptive daughter Mandy. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his son Steven; and his brothers, Alan Benson (Kathy) and Joe Benson (Karen).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel 2 Towers organization and sent in care of the funeral home.
