He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Cushing and Geraldine Cushing (Terry); his son Robin Roberts; his grandchildren, Courtney Hayworth and Chad Roberts; and his brother Daryl Crumpton.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Jeff Roberts (Renay) of Topeka, Chris Cushing (Heather) of Topeka and Misty Hayworth (Terry) of Big Lake, MO; his siblings, Kent Cushing (Cindi) of Wichita, Scott Cushing (Becky) of Auburn, Dana Troutman (Tom) of Liberty, MO and Cherie Sinor of Topeka; and his sisters-in-law, Karon Cook (Lonnie) of Topeka and Marilyn Crumpton of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
