He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Koch and Joanne Koch (Begnoche); and his brother James Michael Koch. He is survived by: his siblings, Janelle Huurman (Kevin), Joe Koch (Cheryl) and Joni Koch (Pfortmiller). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I was shocked to hear of John’s recent passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him when I went to visit my mother at Foxridge. John was a kind and compassionate man, and in that way, reminded me of my own father. He often asked about my grandson and my dogs. He always kept a vigilant eye on my mother and for that, Mom and I will be forever grateful. Fly high, John—until we meet again.”
