He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Kent and Ruby Kent (Wilson); his sister Bonnie; his granddaughter Grace Shinkle; his son-in-law Michael Shinkle; and his siblings, Homer Kent (Phyllis), Roannah McDonald (Mac), Helen Folk (Joe), Ruth Brown (Brownie), Nina Brown (John), Mary Jean Adams (Jay), George Kent and Jerry Kent.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Beasley; his children, Raymond Kent (Janelle), James "Kevin" Kent (Patti) of Topeka and Kimberly Shinkle of Hoyt; and his brother Charles Kent (Aubra Ann) of Webb City, KS. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
