He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Franks and Johnnie Bell Franks; and his siblings, Margie Griner, Ed Franks and John Franks.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Ricky Franks, Michael Franks (Susan) and Pamela Franks (Craig Miller); and his grandchildren, Shannon, Casey, Sally, Jeff, Michael and Ilona. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
