He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Long and Ida Long; his siblings, Hazel, Ruby, Paul, Lyle and Elmer; his former wife Joy Rogers; and his sons, Melvin and Steven Groves.
He is survived by: his son Mark; his wife Maureen Groves; his son Jim; his daughter-in-law Charlotte Long; his grandchildren, Jason and Mardi Long; his grandson-in-law Mohinder Pal; and his great grandchildren, Brenda, Vincent and Jeffrey Alvarez.
