Walt Frederick wrote a sympathy message

“I am sorry to hear about the passing of Jerry. I knew him from Guard and we flew together a lot. I remember a time him and I had a close call in the UH-1H. I was at the controls in the mountains of Colorado. I told him the engine was a maximum power and couldn't stop the descent. We talked about it and I flew the aircraft to the ground without enough power, landed safely, without incident. Jerry was a wonder man and was an American Patriot that will be missed. Walt Frederick”
