She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Akin and Opal Stewart; her son Henry Carlos Loya; and her siblings, Ival Akin, Frank Akin, Benny, Clifford Akin and Virginia Sisco.

She is survived by: her husband Henry Loya of Topeka; her son Jeremy Loya of Topeka; her granddaughter Camila; and her siblings, Joe Akin, Don Akin and Terry Chapman.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude's Hospital.
