It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gayle L. Vernon (Topeka, Kansas), who passed away on March 12, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gayle L. Vernon to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Vernon and Pearl Vernon (Wright). He is survived by: his spouse Alice Terry; his sister Patricia Howard (Bill); his children, Susan Tabor (Steve), Paula Glackin (Jim) and Jeff Vernon; his granddaughters, Clare and CJ; and his stepgrandsons, Sean and Austin. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Gayle Louis and Alice Vernon Family Scholarship at Kansas State University to benefit undergraduate Juniors and Seniors with financial need; The Gayle and Alice Vernon Scholarship at Washburn University to benefit women's athletic scholars, or a charity of your choice.
