She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Vawter and Laura Vawter (Barney); her husband Delbert Mapes; her children, Gary Montague, Faye Gaither, David Montague, Ben Montague, Marsha Miller and Judy Ann Mannarino; and her stepson Delbert Mapes, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Darrell Montague of Topeka, Ethel Marie Victor of Bernicia and Barbara J. Shannon of Kim, Colorado; and her stepdaughter Cathy Hartley of Holton. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
