He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Franklin Custenborder and Rose Donnelly Custenborder; his spouse Mary Judith Slaybaugh; his children, Mike Custenborder (Denise), Carla Little (Wes), Paula Arnold and Steve Custenborder (Jonelle); his siblings, Connie, Rosemary, Janet, George, John and Stephanie; his grandchildren, Greg and Karlee; and his brother Greg. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
