He was predeceased by: his parents, Cloyd M. Hayes, Sr. and Virginia Dzienglewicz Hayes; his children, Krystal Hayes and Brent Hayes; his siblings, Tootsie Burns, Melvin Hayes and Patsy Polston; and his parents-in-law, Kirk and Gladys Phillips.
He is survived by: his daughters, Holly Hayes Winn (Robert) of Lawrence and Robin Hayes Crawford (Travis) of Lakeville, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Kiona and Kade Crawford of Lawrence; his stepgranddaughter Kelsey Winn of Topeka; his great grandchildren, Joshua Murphy and Adonis Winn of Topeka; and his brother-in-law Pat Burns.
