Clayton Green Obituary

Clayton Green, 93, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital.

Clayton was born November 17, 1928, Grant, Oklahoma, to late Douglas and Pauline (Brent) Green. He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Hugo, OK where he met Ola Vern Pugh. They were married on January 8, 1948, in Paris, TX. Together they had four children. He retired after 26 years as a Motor Vehicle Service Driver with a perfect driving record at the United States Postal Service. Clayton and Ola were longtime members of Quivira Heights Church of Christ. He was a dedicated Christian husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by four children, Marion (Stella) Green of Leavenworth, KS, Patricia (Mopoi) Nuwanyakpa of Niamey, Niger, Ola Jean (Faustin) Bangole' of Libreville, Gabon and Sharon Green; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and several cousins, many nieces and nephews.

Clayton was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Vern Green; one brother, Fredrick D. Green and three sisters, Mrs. Arizola Fleming, Mrs. Mary Francis Mathiews and Mrs. Obediah Brown.

A funeral ceremony will be 11:00 am., Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. Clayton's family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Quivira Heights Church of Christ 1718 SW Crest Dr., Topeka, KS 66604.
