He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Elmer and Gertrude Francis Marie Stowers (Long); his siblings, Albert Stowers, Robert Stowers, Marvin Stowers and Christine Miller; and his great grandchild Ace Marie Stowers.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his daughters, Carol Flechsig (Doug) of Carbondale, Michelle Griffith (Jason) of Topeka and Cindy Hoar (Daman) of Salina; and his siblings, Dave Stowers (Bev) of Topeka, Bernice Havenridge (Walt) of Nebraska, Lillian Erickson (Carl) of Missouri and Betty Martin (Merle) of Berryton. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
