He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Samuel Smith, Jr. and Wilma Jean Smith (Stanley). He is survived by: his siblings, Robert Smith, Dennis Smith and Anna Howey; his niece Belinda Howey; and his nephew Shawn Howey.
