She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Paul Kaltwasser and Johanna Kaltwasser (Rump); her husband Frank M. Nelson; her children, Andre Nelson (Jackie) of Topeka and Michelle Young (David) of Harveyville, KS; her grandchildren, Shawn, Terra and Anthony; her sister Hannelore; and her grandson Wesley. She was also cherished by five great grandchildren.
