He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Thompson and Shirley Thompson Allen; his daughter Michelle; his brother Michael Thompson; and his brother-in-law Glenn Ferris.

He is survived by: his former wife Kay King; his children, Kim Filby (Joey), Sarah Anderson (Josh) and Becky Thompson; his grandchildren, Joshua Filby, Abigail Filby, Chastin Anderson, Alexander Anderson, Kiera Anderson and Sophia Anderson; and his siblings, Stephen Thompson (Wanda), Glenn Thompson (Deidre) and Cherie Ferris. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home.
