He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer J. Adkins and Daisy Adkins (Johns); and his sisters, Deanna Stone and June Dempsey. He is survived by: his wife Linda L. Haug; his children, Steve Adkins (Kay) and Staci Osterholm (Mark); and his grandchildren, Rachel Pladies (Justin), Austen Adkins, Lauren Osterholm and Cole Osterholm.
