She was predeceased by: her parents, Pruitt Burks and Janora Burks (Wilson); her spouse Russell "Bud" Palmer; and her siblings, Cora Jean Yarbrough and Nathaniel James "Buddy" Burks.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Vanatta of Lawrence, KS and Brian Gay (Lisa) of Lawrence, KS; her stepdaughter Pam Besser (David); her grandchildren, Shannon Bailey (Ryan), Cynthia Wilson, Sarah Wise, Zachary Gay (Alexia), Parker Gay, Talia Gay, Luke Besser and Dillon Besser; and her great grandchildren, Andrew Bailey, Emma Bailey, Abigail Wilson, Isaac Smith, Colton Smith and Declan Gay.
