He was predeceased by: his daughter Anne Swaim; his parents, Alvin and Agnes; and his siblings, Robert and Elizabeth.

He is survived by: his wife Diane; and his children, Mike, Gary (Vickie), Mark (Mary Ellen), Sue Stegbauer (Mark), Jim, Mary Kay Sherman (Johnny) and Teresa Villanueva (Javier). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
