He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Sawyer and Josette Sawyer (Bertoncini); his wife Peggy Sawyer (Davis); his children, David Sawyer of Sioux City, SD, Angele Davis of Gladstone, MO and Jennifer Carlyle of Lawrence, KS; and his siblings, Frank Sawyer of Kansas City, KS, Richard Sawyer of Andover, KS, Charles Sawyer of Kansas City, KS, William Sawyer of Overland Park, KS, Matthew Stamback-Sawyer of Palm Springs, CA and Elizabeth Cercone of Kansas City, KS. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in his name to the Lawrence Humane Society.
