She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Glen Shipley and Irene Shipley (Carlson); her husband Robert Joseph Bender Jr.; her children, Thomas R. Bender (Pat) of Basehor, KS, Joseph R. Bender (Diana) of Gladstone, MO, Mary L. Brady (Dennis), Dorothy Gaston (Mike) of Lenexa, KS and Joany Dowell (Brian) of Shawnee, KS; and her sister Terri Fredine of Branson, MO. She was also cherished by eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the City Union Mission, or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund.
