He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Arnold and Zelma Louise Knief (Morris); and his wife Mary Knief. He is survived by: his children, Kadilyn Knoop of Sangkhlaburi, Thailand and Kalin Bird of Manhattan, KS; and his stepchildren, Alicia Katz of Wichita, KS, Megan Katz of Wichita, KS, Donavon Owston of Elm Creek, NE, Jeremy Katz of Loveland, CO and Kelly Katz of Brandon, SD. He is also survived by fifteen step-grandchildren; and many friends.
