He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Nowlan and Hazel Whiteis Nowlan; his former wife Janine A. Childers; his wife Ava Fiedler; his siblings, Clifford, Gerald Nowlan, Dorothy Roberts and Shirley Ahrens; and his grandson Brian Bell.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Nowlan (Mary) of Hutchinson, Kevin Nowlan (Deanne) of Sterling, Kansas, Patricia Chantler of Hutchinson, KS, Kathy Cannon (Chris) of Hutchinson, KS, Jeanne Shannon (Bruce) of Austin, TX and Joni DeVries (Dave) of Ogallala, NE; his stepchildren, Chris Fiedler (Joanne Jones) of Eudora, KS and Anita Fiedler (Tyress Allen) of Dallas, TX; and his siblings, Gary Nowlan of Boulder, CO and Dee Duff (Dan) of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Kindred Hospice, American Cancer Society or Sterling Village in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
