It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Valdie Sylvester Barnett of Sterling, Kansas, who passed away on April 25, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Sylvester and Eva Nadine; and his daughter Rebecca Barnett. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Dimitt, Teresa Medina (Jose), Valdie Barnett, Jessica Ventura (Alex), Jaime Taylor and Rose Mauck (Dustin); and his sister Kathy Copp (Joe). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Rice County Council on Aging in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
