We are sad to announce that on May 11, 2023, at the age of 62, Stephen Philip Rivas in Sterling, Kansas, born in San Diego, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Albert Rivas; and his parents-in-law, Marion and Flo Berblinger. He is survived by: his mother Marylou Rivas of Overland Park; his children, Stephen Rivas (Tiffany) of Maryland, Ashley (Darryl), Anna Rivas, Hayley (Jesse), Lindsey Johnson (Andrew), Rachel Miller and Klint Carter; his grandchildren, Aria Rivas, Kenzi, Blake, Lexi Bennett, Wyatt, Elliott Howard, Ebby, Maddy Johnson, Kasen and Michael Miller; his wife Sara Berblinger Carter; his brother Mike (Carol); and his siblings-in-law, Mike (Sarah) and Pam Stevens of Newton. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many beloved friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sterling Pool Restoration Fund in care of the funeral home.

“I met Steve through Fred Gilmore. Took Steve and Fred on an unforgettable Lobster Diving trip out of big Pine Key, FL. All totaled Steve and the gang caught 28-Florida Spiny Lobsters. Steve was an inspiration to Many including myself. He will be in my memories forever. God Bless, Bruce Colle-”
