He was predeceased by: his parents, James Richard Hilgers and Elizabeth Anne Hilgers (DeMurry); and his sister Nancy Hilgers Gilliland. He is survived by: his wife Janet Hilgers of Sterling, KS; his children, Julie Hanschu (Shamus Partain) of McPherson, KS, Randy Hilgers of WaKeeney, KS and Ricky Hilgers (Cindy) of Ogallah, KS; his grandchildren, Ben Hanschu, Eve Hanschu, Leigha Hilgers, Lucas Hilgers, Eli Hilgers, Owen Hilgers and Alayna Hilgers; his siblings, Anna Schneider (Scotty) of Hays, KS and Doug Hilgers of Murfreesboro, TN; his sister-in-law Jennifer Scofield (Bill) of Wichita, KS; and his aunt Susan Weigel (Ed) of Plainville, KS. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
