It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lola Mae Amend of Sterling, Kansas, born in Welda, Kansas, who passed away on June 21, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilson Martin and Christianna Brubaker Martin; her husband Robert Dwain Amend; and her siblings, Harold, Frank, Dale, Edgar, George Martin and Edna Kratzer.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Donald Amend of Larned, KS and Marlene Buck (Herschel) of Georgetown, TX; her children, Mickel Amend (Jolene) of Marysville, WA, Danny Amend of Arlington, KS and Linda Shook (Earl) of Hutchinson, KS; and her siblings, Kenneth Martin of Lawrence, KS, Ella Thacker (Richard) of Lecompton, KS, Velma Pretzer of Garnett, KS, Elsie Menefee of Wichita, KS, Marietta Martin of Wichita, KS and Sarah Hartpence of Keller, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County or a Charity of your choice in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
