He was predeceased by: his parents, Donnell B. Axtell and Margaret L. Hurr Axtell. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Kay" Davis; his daughters, Penny Hochanadel (Gery) of Venus, TX, Robyn Wheatley (Shane) of Fordland, MO and Hollie Judd (Jerry) of Kingman, KS; his brother Harvey Axtell (Marcia) of Sterling; and his grandchildren, Gery Christopher, Michaela, Lillian, Anthony, Benjamin Hochanadel, Elijah, Madison and Chloe Judd.

Memorials may be given to United Presbyterian Church, Sterling or Kansas Lions Sight Foundation in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
