He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Ray Eldridge, Sr. and Stella Frances Eldridge (Waldburger); and his siblings, Elfreda Polfer, Delores Collins and James Eldridge.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Coleman; his children, Michael Nelson (Liz) and Janet Bennett (David); his grandchildren, Peter, Samantha (Kiel), Tammy (Troy) and Paige; and his great grandchildren, Angel, Harmony, Aurora, Faith, Corey, Cayden, Christian, Aria, Skyler, Levi, Lana, Delilah and Georgia.

Memorial contributions may be given for a memorial bench at the Spring Hill Baptist Church.
