She was predeceased by: her parents, Nellie Sarah (Briggs) and Ralph Brittin Rice; her husband John Charles Cook, Sr.; her son John, Jr.; and her siblings, Margaret Evelyn Rice, Norman Adelbert Rice, Homer E. Rice, Vernon Dale Rice, Erma Nell Rice, Margery Frances Hoover, Earl Brittin "Jack" Rice and Hazel Caroline Morse.
She is survived by: her sons, Joseph, Justin of Eureka and Joe (LeeAnna) of Boise, Idaho; her daughter-in-law Linda Cook of Rockwall, Texas; her daughters, Lynda Barrick of San Leandro, California, Laura Cook of Gardner, Kansas, Lorayne Rivera (Rivera) of Junction City, Kansas and Lynelle Ladd (Olin) of Topeka, Kansas; and her sister Jeanie Hughes of Wichita, Kansas.. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Jefferson Street Baptist Church.
