He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Vierthaler and Cecelia A. Vierthaler (Schaplowsky); his son Dr. Carl Vierthaler; his granddaughter Beth Vierthaler; and his brother Albert Vierthaler.
He is survived by: his wife Erma Heskamp; his children, Dr. Stephen Vierthaler (Peggy), Dr. Lyle Vierthaler (Donna), Bruce Vierthaler (Cindy), Greg Vierthaler (Jill) and Dr. Lois Vierthaler Kessen (Greg); and his daughter-in-law Nancy Vierthaler. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
