He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathias Friess and Mary "Mayme" Friess (Roths); his daughter Danita Ann Friess; his great grandchild Katelyn Jo Burgett; and his siblings, Cletus, Elmer, Lewis, Eugene, Donald, Warren, Bernard Friess, Laurene Marvin, Marjorie Flax, Anna Mae Ferguson and Janice Hornung.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Hoffman; his children, Carolyn "CJ" Friess (Randy Bilbeisi), Virginia, Roberta Crawford (Curtis), Ruth Shank (Gavin), Joyce Raya (Paul), Patrick Friess and David Friess (Navid); his grandchildren, Kirsten Burgett (John), Savannah Goolsby, Megan Crawford (Zac Corrales), Jamie Mulcahy (Cavan), Nicolette Lindstrom (Jason), Nick Raya (Kristal), Bellanie Friess and Jaelin Friess; and his siblings, Harold Friess, Frederick Friess, Maurice Friess, Janice Friess (Bernadette), Mary Frances Flax, Rosella McLain and Cathy Ator. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Knights of Columbus Council 1539, or the church, both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
