He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi James and Mary Leona Nichols (McReynolds); his brother Roger Nichols; and his grandson Joshua Levi Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Nichols of Smith Center; his children, Kenny Nichols (Michelle) of Gaylord, Toban Nichols of Los Angels, CA and Sandy Robinson (Roger) of Wilson; his grandchildren, Jake Nichols (Tara), Bret Nichols (Brogan) and Kaci Ziegler (Dustin); and his great grandchildren, Landon Robinson, Gunner Nichols, Karson Nichols, Lane Phillips, Willow Nichols and Tatum Nichols.

Memorials may be given to Redman Athletics and/or Smith County Volunteer Fire Department and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
