It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Ann Altaffer Stuhr (Shawnee Mission, Kansas), who passed away on August 12, 2018, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her parents, Clara Marie Thompson and Virgil Eugene Altaffer; her husband John Carl Stuhr, Jr.; her sons, Jim of Shawnee and John of California; and her sister Dorothy Lee Phillips. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

After supporting John through Alzheimer's until his passing in 2008, she continued her work battling hunger and inequality.
