She was predeceased by: her husband George Higgins; and her son George Higgins Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Timothy Higgins, Kathleen Richardson and Maureen Gaughan (Jerry). She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

As a teenager she cared for her mother, who was wheelchair bound due to Parkinson's disease.
