He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Santoyo and Lorraine Santoyo; and his siblings, Larry Santoyo, Richard Santoyo and Pat Santoyo.

He is survived by: his spouse Elizabeth; his children, Robert A. Santoyo (Michelle) of Kansas City, KS, Michelle Bemberger (Tom) of Lenexa and Regina Perez (Peter); his grandchildren, Estaban Navarro, Elyssia Navarro, Maya Bemberger, Robert A. Santoyo II and Benicio C. Santoyo; and his siblings, Felix Santoyo (Lucy), Kathe Wingfield (Brent), Theresa Santoyo and Ruby Marron.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

“Liz and Family-- You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm devastated that you are having to endure this after the amazing fight Robert battled. Even though it wasn't in the best circumstances, I enjoyed my time with you all and was so amazed by your family. Thank you for supporting him and the staff the way you did. When I told him he was my favorite patient, I truly meant it. Robert was such a sweet soul and the world will truly miss him. God Bless you all. Nurse Jenny and the entire staff in the Providence Medical Center ICU.”
