He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Welch and Dorothy Welch; his brothers, Don Welch and Charles "Chuck" Welch; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Ward, Richard Crawford, Jesse Whitwell, Delores Welch and Peggy Welch.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Harlow Welch; his children, Sandra K Welch Donnelly Leawood (Dennis) and Phillip W Welch of Kansas City; his grandchildren, Allyssa Grizzle, Kevin Grizzle, Waverly and Alex Grizzle; his stepgrandchildren, Erin Donnelly Suleiman (Samir) of Belmont, NC, Sean Donnelly (Kelly) of Overland Park, KS and Cara Donnelly of Leawood, KS; his great grandchildren, Nora Shanks, Jonathan Massey and Laevin Grizzle; his stepgreat-granddaughter Isla Donnelly; and his siblings, Bill Welch, Helen Ward, Judy Drier (Bob), Suzie Whitwell and Jim Welch.
