He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Strathman and Appolonia Fangman Strathman; his grandson Keith Strathman; and his siblings, Jospeph Strathman, Betty Winterscheidt, Mildred Jilka, Arthur Strathman, William Strathman and Judith Oden.
He is survived by: his wife Grace; his children, Richard Strathman of Seneca, Donald Strathman (Julie) of Seneca, Jean Stueve of Topeka, Ellen Rowland of Lee Summit, MO and Max Strathman (Shyla) of Lawrence; and his siblings, Lyle Strathman (Bernie) of Mt. Vernon, IA and Rose Mary Riley of Lawrence. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
